Ffion Gwawr Williams AISTD

I was born and raised in Bangor, North Wales and began dancing at the age of 3. I was born with a condition called CDH (Congenital Dislocated Hip) and so after surgery and treatment my parents were advised by doctors that I did something that would help build up muscle and strength in my legs. I began dancing Ballet. Over the next couple of years I also started dancing Modern and Tap.

At the age of 9 I began competing in the Eisteddfod in solo Disco and also group competitions. At this point I also joined a drama school and as the years of performing and competing in numerous competitions went by there was no doubt in my mind that dancing was all I wanted to do. At the age of 17 I took the big leap of going for an audition at a Liverpool Dance College where I was accepted and spent the next 3 years studying dance and getting my teaching qualifications.

I graduated in 2005 at the age of 20 and came back to my hometown of Bangor and was lucky with the support of family and friends to make my life’s dream come true and start up my own dance school ‘Stiwdio Ddawns Bangor Dance Studio’ of which I am now the Principal. In which I teach classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Disco, Street Dance/Hip-Hop, Latin American, Ballroom, Contemporary, Cheerleading, National, Zumba and Zumba Toning.
