Jason began his dance training at the age of 16 in Coleg Menai, where he studied the First Diploma in Performing Arts and received a National Diploma in Drama.

Directly after graduating from LIPA, Jason gained a one year contract at Blackpool’s famous “Funny Girls.” Where he specialised in Musical Theatre and Cabaret style dance. Here he gained a number of valuable experiences, such as the use of professional choreography, drag make up and costumes for stage.

Once his contract at “Funny Girls” had come to an close he then decided it was time he returned to his home town to visit old friends and family, on doing so he arranged to meet with his original tutors from Coleg Menai, who suggested he teach some taster sessions to their current students and discuss his experiences as a professional dancer.

The classes were believed to be a massive success and an agreement was arranged in which Jason would teach Street Jazz and Contemporary dance, on the Performing Arts courses at Coleg Menai, part time during the following two academic years provided that he enrolled on the Post Graduate Certificate Education (PGCE.)

He is now approaching his fourth year of teaching at Coleg Menai, and is thoroughly enjoying each new experience that comes his way!

In addition to this, Jason was employed by the “Anna Baker School of Drama” where he taught Street Jazz, and Musical Theatre Dance. This was an excellent experience for Jason as it gave him the opportunity to learn a great deal of new skills and gain an insight into the running of a private Performing Arts school.

In 2010 Jason graduated for the second time having passed his PGCE teaching course, and since completing decided it was the ideal opportunity for him to open his own private dance classes, under the name “Bangor Dance Academy.” He first started running a variety of sessions in local church halls, school gymnasiums and several sports centres, with classes catering for all ages from five years up wards.

After running Bangor Dance Academy for 16 months, Jason was lucky enough to be invited by Tracy to take a look at a the possibility of transferring his classes to a brand new state of the art dance studio, and of course he was made up with the offer and jumped at the chance, he is very excited and privileged to be running classes in such a venue.
