We run 3 types of hoop tuition: a 4 week routine based course consisting of many tricks, mounts, and transitions within a routine, private lessons for those uncomfortable with class situations and a Hoop Tricks class solely for those wanting to learn tricks with no transitional work included. Please see booking information below.
Usually aerial hoop is unlike pole, in that you need to cover the skin to avoid burns. You may also wish to wear multiple layers to avoid bruising. We would normally recommend leggings and long sleeved tops. However during the Covid-19 Pandemic we have uncovered the hoops bringing them to bare metal for ease of cleaning. This means you must wear shorts and short sleeves as a temporary measure.
The benefits to learning Lyra are many. According to research conducted by AerialBliss while increasing your metabolic rate you could burn up to 520 calories in an hourly class. Lyra is also brilliant for building strength and improving posture. Many Lyra moves involve balance, therefore you will be engaging all those core muscles that have probably been dormant for some time! There are also many moves that involve flexibility on a Lyra and these will also be worked on. You will find with regular practice your flexibility will improve and these moves will become easier.
